Edgecumbe Lodge Care Home

Edgecumbe Lodge provides residential care and personal support for up to 21 older people and those living with dementia, currently caring for 15 residents. The four-storey building includes accessible features such as a lift and stairlift, with bathrooms on each floor. During inspection, some health and safety concerns were found to have been addressed, such as broken tiles in the porch, but several risks remained unresolved.

Inspectors identified that parts of the premises and equipment were not adequately clean or maintained, creating infection control hazards. Fire safety was not consistently maintained throughout the home. The provider and registered manager demonstrated poor oversight of environmental risks, with inspectors identifying shortfalls that the home's own systems had failed to detect.
