This residential home provides personal care to up to five people with learning disabilities and physical support needs. During the inspection, all five residents were living at the home. Staff prioritised residents' wellbeing and took steps to minimise the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on their lives. Residents maintained regular contact with family members through phone calls and received support to understand changes to their daily routines. The home's spacious communal garden and outside care park area enabled socially distanced family visits. The registered manager ensured appropriate clinical support was in place for aerosol generating procedures, with staff receiving specialist infection prevention and control training. High-level personal protective equipment was stocked appropriately and clear guidance was provided on precautions including room ventilation. Staff worked closely with a specialist nurse on infection control audits and refresher training. Residents identified as extremely vulnerable received appropriate support in relation to NHS shielding communications.
