Deer Park View Care Centre

Deer Park View Care Centre provides nursing and personal care to up to 60 people, including those living with dementia and people with mental and physical health needs. The purpose-built home has three separate floors, with one specialising in dementia care. At inspection, 51 people were using the service. Staff response to call bells was generally quick, though some relatives felt there were insufficient carers at busy times. Residents reported a lack of activities and limited staff time for engagement, with comments including "I haven't got anyone to talk" and noting staff were "really nice but they don't have time for me, only time to do the medication."

Staff received safeguarding training and could identify abuse, but an incident revealed they did not fully understand how to escalate concerns through proper safeguarding processes. Quality assurance systems existed but were not consistently used to monitor all aspects of care. While staff received training and supervisions to support their roles, supervisions were not effectively used to encourage their development.
