Deepdene Care Centre

Deepdene Care Centre is a nursing home in Surrey providing nursing and personal care for up to 65 people. The CQC rated the service Requires Improvement overall, following an inspection prompted in part by a serious incident. Inspectors found breaches relating to risk management, medicines and governance, including gaps in identifying and mitigating risks to people, and some poor care practices observed at lunchtime.

On a more positive note, the CQC found the home clean and well-maintained, with effective infection control and safe recruitment practices. Staff were well-trained and spoke positively about management, and people and relatives were involved in care planning. Most people found staff caring, though some said their needs were not always met promptly.
