Covent House

Covent House accommodates up to 63 older people, including those living with dementia, in a purpose-built setting. At inspection, 58 people were using the service. Improvements were needed in medicines management and care records to ensure people received effective, person-centred care. The quality assurance system required strengthening to better assess care standards, as shortfalls in medicines management, record-keeping, staff deployment, and clinical care had not been identified or addressed promptly by the provider's governance system.

Despite these concerns, people and relatives were complimentary about the care provided, describing staff as kind, caring and supportive. One relative commented, "We are 100% happy with the care [Name] receives," while another noted, "[Name] is always clean and tidy, their clothes are always pressed and put in the wardrobe, the way [Name] smiles when the staff talk to them is amazing." Staff had received safeguarding training and understood how to raise concerns appropriately, with actions taken to keep people safe.
