Cooksditch House Nursing & Residential Home

Cooksditch House provides personal and nursing care for up to 55 older people, including those living with dementia. At inspection, 46 residents were living at the service. People felt safe from abuse, with residents saying "There is no abusive behaviour" and "I'm kept safe by my carers." Staff were trained to recognise and respond to safety concerns, and the provider had appropriate policies in place. The service was preventing and controlling infection effectively, with additional COVID-19 training and procedures implemented.

The registered manager was described as approachable with an open-door policy. Residents praised her responsiveness, with one person stating, "In case of any problems I'd go to the manager. She is not out of reach and always has time to chat." Complaints were handled in a timely and appropriate manner, and both people and staff knew how to raise concerns and escalate them if necessary. Staff reported the service was well led and focused on continuous learning and improving care.
