About Community Places

Community Places is a residential care home in Barnsley providing support to younger adults, some of whom are living with a learning disability and/or autism. Full details of the CQC's most recent findings are set out below.

Community Places is a residential care home providing support to younger adults, some living with a learning disability and/or autism, for up to 16 people. The CQC found the service had improved since a previous breach relating to safe care and governance, and inspectors confirmed the provider was no longer in breach. Staff understood risks well, managed medicines safely, and supported people to make informed choices about their care.

Inspectors found a positive, open culture where people were treated with dignity and encouraged towards independence. People and relatives spoke warmly of staff, feeling safe and well supported, with strong communication and person-centred care. Leadership was effective, staff felt valued, and complaints were taken seriously and acted upon.
