Colne View

Colne View provides accommodation with personal care and nursing for up to 70 older people, including those living with dementia. At the time of inspection, 55 people were living at the service. Communication with relatives was strong, with the provider and manager keeping families informed about visiting arrangements and booking visitors at convenient times spaced to minimise infection risk. The service had implemented robust screening measures including a wall-mounted thermal camera that monitored temperatures and reminded visitors to wear masks. Clear signage throughout the building reinforced infection prevention practices including social distancing, PPE use, and handwashing. People were supported to access COVID-19 testing and seasonal preventative injections, with those lacking capacity appropriately assessed in accordance with mental capacity legislation to ensure decisions were made in their best interests.
