Cedars Place Care Home

The following is CQC's published account of its assessment, published 10 November 2025. References to “we” mean CQC. It describes findings at that time.

Cedars Place Care Home is a care home providing accommodation and personal care for up to 63 people. There were 37 people living at the service during our inspection. This was due to planned building improvements. The reason we inspected was in response to concerns we had received about staffing levels and the culture within the home. This inspection focused on the key questions of Safe and Response and Well-Led.

Risks to people’s safety and well being were managed well. Accidents and incidents were also recorded and reviewed to minimise the risk of them happening again. Safeguarding concerns were reported in line with requirements and staff were aware of their responsibilities in keeping people safe. Safe systems were in place to manage maintenance and infection prevention and control.

Staff and the management team treated people with kindness, empathy, and compassion, and respected their privacy and dignity. The care planning system did not always support the delivery of person-centred care. However, the provider had identified this and told us they were planning to introduce a different system already in use in another of their services.

Medicines were managed safely. Staff had completed relevant training and competency assessments.

Audit systems were in place to review the care people received and monitor the systems within the service. Where concerns were identified, action was taken to make improvements.

Concerns raised with us prior to our inspection had already been identified by the provider when we visited. They had taken action to address these for example, increasing staffing levels and an improved induction for staff. There was a strong management presence within the service, with additional support provided from the wider organisation.
