About Cleadon Court

Cleadon Court, in South Tyneside, is a residential care home providing personal care for up to 13 people, including those with acquired brain injuries. The CQC found the service required improvement overall, following ongoing concerns about care quality, leadership stability and governance. Frequent changes of manager had caused confusion, delays and anxiety for people and relatives, though a new manager had recently begun addressing issues.

Inspectors found shortfalls in safeguarding, medicines management and care planning, with records not always reflecting people's current needs. However, staff were found to be kind, caring and respectful, and self-contained flats had improved people's privacy and reduced incidents. Staff confidence in the new management team was reported to be high, though stability had not yet been fully established.
