Chorlton Place Nursing Home

The following is CQC's published account of its assessment, published 13 August 2026. References to “we” mean CQC. It describes findings at that time.

Date of assessment: 24 June to 20 July 2026.

This assessment was undertaken to follow up concerns identified at the previous assessment, including breaches of regulation and a subsequent Warning Notice issued under Regulation 12 (Safe Care and Treatment).

Chorlton Place Nursing Home is a care home providing accommodation, personal and nursing care for up to 48 older and younger adults.

The provider had made improvements since the previous assessment. People were treated with dignity and respect by caring and compassionate staff who knew them well and understood their needs. Staff were recruited safely, received training and support appropriate to their roles, and there were enough staff available to meet people's needs safely.

Improvements had been made to the management of oxygen therapy, medicines, clinical monitoring and the recognition and escalation when people’s well-being deteriorated. Medicines were managed safely. Medicines were available when required, and storage arrangements supported the safe and effective use of medicines.

Staff demonstrated a good understanding of people's risks and the actions required to keep people safe.

The provider had strengthened systems used to assess, monitor and mitigate risks to people's health, safety and welfare. Governance processes, audits, clinical monitoring systems and action plans provided improved oversight of service quality and safety. Leaders used information from incidents, audits and routine monitoring to identify risks, drive improvement and support learning across the service.

People received appropriate nutritional support, and ongoing improvements in the quality of the mealtime experience was observed. The home was clean, tidy and maintained to support people to live in a safe environment. Staff worked effectively with healthcare professionals to support people's changing health needs and promote positive outcomes.

At the previous assessment, the provider was in breach of regulations relating to safe care and treatment and good governance, and had previously breached regulations relating to dignity and respect. This assessment found that the improvements made had been sustained and further strengthened. Systems and processes were in place to assess, monitor and improve the quality and safety of the service, with effective oversight of risks and action taken when concerns were identified. As a result, the provider was no longer in breach of the regulations relating to safe care and treatment and good governance and remained compliant with the regulation relating to dignity and respect.
