Chapter House Care Home

Chapter House Care Home, in East Riding of Yorkshire, provides residential care for up to 83 people, including older people and those living with dementia, sensory impairment or physical disability. Following its first CQC assessment since registration, the service was rated Requires Improvement overall, with a breach found in good governance. Recent management and staffing changes had unsettled people and relatives, who wanted more visible support from leaders.

Inspectors found people felt safe and were treated with kindness, and medicines, recruitment and staff training were all handled well. However, care plans lacked detail in places, and activities for people living with dementia were not always meaningful or tailored to individual needs.
