Chapter House Care Home

Chapter House Care Home, in East Riding of Yorkshire, provides accommodation and personal care for up to 83 people, including older people and those living with dementia, sensory impairment or physical disability. The CQC rated the service Requires Improvement overall, finding a breach of regulations relating to good governance. A new manager had only recently started, and staff changes had not been communicated well, leaving some people and relatives feeling less supported.

Inspectors found people felt safe and staff knew them well, though risk assessments lacked some detail. Staff were kind, well trained and supported people's independence and choices. Activities were offered regularly, but engagement for people living with dementia was not always meaningful or well tailored to their needs.
