Chapel Garth EMI Residential Home

Chapel Garth is a care home providing personal care and support for up to 34 people, including some living with dementia. The CQC found the service remained good overall, with people and relatives describing staff as kind and caring, and feeling safe. However, risks were not always managed in line with care plans, staff were not always deployed effectively, and some medicines practices needed attention.

Inspectors rated the well-led area as requires improvement, noting weak governance and signs of a closed culture where the service sometimes ran for staff rather than residents. A new manager had recently joined and had plans to improve oversight. Issues raised were addressed promptly following the assessment.
