About Anchor House - Doncaster

Anchor House - Doncaster is a residential care home in Doncaster offering personal care without nursing support. Details of the Care Quality Commission's most recent findings are set out below.

Anchor House - Doncaster provides personal care for up to 23 people, including those living with dementia, without nursing support. The CQC found the service has left special measures and is no longer inadequate, with an overall rating of Requires Improvement. Inspectors found staff kind and caring, with good support for people's independence, choices and wellbeing, and improvements to care planning and food.

However, shortfalls remained in safety and leadership. Inspectors found risks in the care environment were not always well controlled, and medication protocols needed tightening. New governance systems had been introduced but still needed to be embedded and sustained to ensure improvements continue.
