Castletroy Residential Home

Castletroy Residential Home in Luton provides accommodation and care for up to 69 older people, including those living with dementia. Following concerns about the quality and safety of care, the CQC's rating fell from good to inadequate, and the home has been placed into special measures.

Inspectors found risks to people were not properly assessed, medicines were not managed safely, and the environment was not clean or well maintained. Staff had not identified or reported abuse, care was not always person-centred, and leadership's quality monitoring had failed to spot these problems. Despite this, most people and relatives told the CQC that staff were kind and they felt safe.
