Castlethorpe Nursing Home

Castlethorpe Nursing Home provides residential care for older people, including those living with dementia, mental health needs or physical disabilities. It is registered for up to 59 people, with 35 living there at the time of assessment. The CQC rates the service as Requires Improvement overall, having removed it from special measures following an earlier inspection that found breaches around safety and dignity.

Inspectors found kinder, more consistent care, better communication with families and more personalised activities. However, concerns remained about environmental safety, incomplete fire risk actions, weak recruitment records and care plans lacking detail. Governance remained ineffective, and the service is still in breach of regulations relating to quality assurance.
