Cassandra House

Cassandra House provides care and accommodation for up to 43 older people, some living with dementia. At the time of assessment 31 people were living there. The CQC found shortfalls in medicines management, care planning and premises safety, with records that were inconsistent and risks not always fully assessed or acted upon.

Breaches of regulation were identified relating to safe care and treatment and to governance.

People and relatives spoke positively about the care they received, describing staff as kind and supportive, and inspectors observed good interactions and varied activities. However, the service did not always meet expected standards of safety and person-centred care, and the manager and provider were responsive to feedback, taking action to address concerns raised during the assessment.
