Carrick

Carrick provides personal care to 4 people with a learning disability or autistic people, with capacity for up to 5 residents. Staff supported people to participate in activities in their local area and helped with medicine administration in ways that promoted independence, considering alternative support methods before using medicines to manage distress. However, systems to develop people's skills, confidence and independence were not robust, with limited focus on meaningful engagement while residents were at home. People were not consistently supported to have maximum choice and control over their lives, and staff did not always support them in the least restrictive way possible. While the service recorded incidents and accidents, these records did not consistently document lessons learned for improvement.
