Carnalea Residential Home

Carnalea Residential Home provides accommodation and personal care for up to 50 older people, including those living with dementia, across three floors served by a passenger lift. At the time of the assessment, 39 people were living there. The CQC rated the home Good overall, an improvement on the previous rating, having found the earlier breaches relating to safe care, staffing checks and governance had been resolved.

Inspectors found risks were managed well, staffing levels were sufficient, and infection control and health and safety were promoted. People spoke positively about kind, respectful staff who knew them well, supported their independence and provided engaging activities. Care planning, complaints handling and leadership were all found to be effective.
