About Byker Lodge
Byker Lodge provides short-stay care for people living with dementia who need temporary or emergency support. The service accommodates up to 25 people across three units with communal indoor and outdoor spaces. At inspection, 18 people were using the service.
The registered manager and staff ensured people, relatives and employees stayed informed about visiting and testing guidance. Staff responded promptly to advice from external infection prevention and control professionals. Regular audits and walkarounds maintained high standards of infection control practices and proper personal protective equipment usage throughout the service.
