Briardene Care Home

Briardene Care Home is a purpose-built facility providing personal and nursing care for up to 60 older people and younger adults, some with physical disabilities or dementia. Residents feel safe and valued in the home. One person described it as "the next best thing to home" where they can do what they want and feel the care staff are like friends who are "very kind and caring." Staff understand safeguarding procedures and appropriately report and investigate concerns to identify learning opportunities.

The home maintains robust infection prevention and control measures, with staff knowledgeable about and compliant with PPE guidance. Risk assessments are regularly conducted and measures implemented to minimise harm to residents. Medicines are managed safely, and people are supported to make choices about their daily lives, with staff working in the least restrictive way possible and always acting in residents' best interests.
