Bracken House

Bracken House provides personal care to up to 34 older people, some living with dementia, across a two-storey adapted building with three communal lounges downstairs and a dining area. At inspection, 31 people were using the service, including two on respite placements.

The home maintained cleaning schedules and was generally clean, though systems for maintaining equipment needed improvement—a broken carpet cleaner was not replaced promptly, leaving stains uncleaned. Mental capacity assessments were not always recorded consistently when needed, indicating gaps in documentation systems for decision-specific assessments. Quality assurance systems were in place at the service.
