Boulevard House

Boulevard House is a residential care home providing accommodation and personal care to up to 15 people with a learning disability across a bungalow with 3 bedrooms and a main house with 12 bedrooms. At the time of inspection, 11 people were using the service.

Inspectors identified concerns around safety management. Risks were not always assessed or managed to ensure staff had appropriate guidance to keep people safe. The use of restrictive interventions had not been risk assessed, leaving uncertainty about whether people would be kept safe if such practices were used. Positive behaviour support plans did not provide sufficient information to staff about whether restrictive interventions could be used when people became distressed. Staff reported they had received training in prevention and management of violence and aggression, though they indicated they did not need to use it.
