About Birch House

Birch House is a residential care home in Kent, providing accommodation and support for autistic people and people with a learning disability. Further details from the Care Quality Commission's most recent inspection are set out below.

Birch House is a residential care home providing accommodation for up to five autistic people or people with a learning disability, supporting residents with varied communication needs. The CQC rated the home Good overall, prompted by concerns at another service run by the same provider, and found no breaches of regulation.

Inspectors found staff communicated well with residents, kept them safe and supported them to take part in chosen activities. However, care plans lacked detail on people's goals and decision-making, some risks had not always been fully considered, and staff skills in providing personalised care varied.
