About Beechwood Grove

Beechwood Grove is a nursing home in East Sussex, providing care for older people including those living with dementia and a range of health conditions such as stroke, diabetes and Parkinson's disease. The findings below set out what the Care Quality Commission observed on its most recent inspection.

Beechwood Grove accommodates up to 60 older people with general health problems including stroke, dementia, diabetes, heart problems, Parkinson's disease and mobility issues. The purpose-built home spans three floors with level access and is divided into three units: residential, memory loss and nursing. At inspection, 56 people were living there.

Systems existed to assess and monitor quality and safety, though documentation needed improvement. Incident and accident forms were completed but lacked documented analysis to prevent recurrence or mitigate risks. Staff assured inspectors that risk mitigation actions had been taken.

End of life care lacked person-centred, dignified delivery during the inspection, though clinical checks were in place. The deputy manager took immediate action when this was raised.
