Barlavington Manor

Barlavington Manor is a residential care home in West Sussex providing accommodation and personal care for up to 57 older people, including those living with dementia. Following a notification of a serious incident, the CQC found the provider was in breach of legal requirements around safe care and treatment, person-centred care and governance. Risks were not always identified or managed well, and quality checks were not always effective.

Despite this, inspectors found people were treated with kindness, dignity and respect, and staff knew residents well. People and relatives spoke positively about staff and leadership, feeling safe, well cared for and confident to raise concerns. The provider has been asked to submit an action plan addressing the shortfalls identified.
