Balmoral Care Home

The CQC rated the home Requires Improvement overall, identifying breaches relating to the management of medicines and environmental risk, along with gaps in governance, record-keeping and timely action on identified shortfalls. Staff were not always available promptly, which affected care, dignity and activities.

Inspectors found people and relatives spoke warmly of staff, describing kind and caring support, though consent was not always explicitly sought and family involvement in care decisions was limited. Care plans lacked personalisation, and activity provision was inconsistent due to staffing gaps. The registered manager was working with stakeholders on an improvement plan.
