Ashlands Care Home

Ashlands Care Home provides personal care to up to 30 older people and people living with dementia in a single adapted building. At inspection, 19 people were using the service. Staff understood how to recognise and report abuse, and people received their prescribed medicines safely. However, risks relating to personal care were not always managed safely, and the provider had not ensured an up-to-date fire risk assessment and evacuation plan was in place. Staff lacked confidence in safely evacuating people at night. The registered manager and provider took immediate action to address these issues during the inspection. Although the provider had checks and audits in place, these were not always effective at identifying areas needing improvement.
