Ashgables House

Ashgables House is a residential care home providing personal and nursing care to up to 26 people with complex mental health needs, some of whom also have learning disabilities or autism. At inspection, 18 people were using the service. Staff are safely recruited and receive appropriate training for their roles. Systems are in place to protect people from abuse and medicines are managed safely. People reported being supported by staff who knew them well and were kind. Staff support people to have maximum choice and control of their lives in the least restrictive way possible, done respectfully to maintain their independence. However, risks assessed for people were not always mitigated effectively, and inspectors made recommendations about how risks are managed within the service.
