About Arliemoor Care Home

Arliemoor Care Home is a residential care home in Devon, providing accommodation and support for working-age adults with severe and enduring mental health conditions. The findings below set out the CQC's most recent assessment of the service.

Arliemoor Care Home, in Devon, provides accommodation and support for up to 10 working-age adults with severe and enduring mental health conditions. The CQC rated it inadequate overall and has placed it in special measures after finding widespread, systemic failings across safety, staffing, governance and person-centred care. Inspectors identified 11 breaches of regulations, including poorly managed environmental risks, insecure medicines storage, and a building requiring significant refurbishment.

Despite this, inspectors found staff were kind, patient and respectful, and people living there said they felt safe and happy. However, ineffective leadership and governance meant these positive relationships were not matched by safe, well-run systems, and significant improvement is now required.
