Southlands Court Residential Home

Southlands Court Residential Home provides care and support for up to 26 older people, with 20 people living there at the time of assessment. The CQC carried out this assessment due to ongoing concerns about delays in seeking medical attention and poor escalation of health risks, and the service was in a whole service safeguarding process for the second time this year.

Inspectors found improvements in fire safety, medicines management and risk escalation, though these needed embedding further. Care records were not always personalised, staffing feedback was mixed, and one instance of undignified language was noted. People said staff were kind, and previous breaches around safe care and governance had been addressed.

The overall rating remains Requires Improvement.
