Aran Court Care Home

Aran Court provides nursing care for up to 86 older people, with 54 residents living there at the time of inspection. Inspectors identified several concerns with the management of medicines and sharps. Sharp containers were not properly signed for when brought into use and were not disposed of in a timely manner. In one medicine room, stock medication was stored without using the available locked cabinet—doors were instead held closed with a rubber band. Care records lacked relevant information documenting changes to residents' health conditions, and reviews of care were not being conducted with people or their relatives. Risk assessments documented in some residents' care records were not being consistently followed.
