Appledown

Appledown provides personal care for up to six people in a residential setting. At inspection, the service was supporting six residents. The kitchen environment was dated with damaged worktops and flooring that were difficult to clean, which staff recognised did not support people in developing new skills. Following feedback, improvements were made prior to the kitchen's planned replacement in summer 2024. The provider has been recommended to implement additional systems to ensure the environment consistently supports people's wellbeing, and to seek guidance on monitoring medicine storage conditions.

People receive their medicines as prescribed. Staff support residents to make meaningful decisions and choices, operating in the least restrictive way possible and in people's best interests. The service's policies and systems reflect this commitment to enabling choice and control in residents' lives.
