Allerton Park Care Centre

This residential care home provides personal and nursing care for up to 50 people, including those living with dementia and mental health needs. At the time of inspection, 46 people were residing there. However, inspectors found significant safety concerns. People were at risk of harm as the provider had not properly identified, assessed, or mitigated risks related to their health, care needs, and the environment. The home was tired, poorly maintained, and appeared unclean, with staff not consistently following safe infection control practices. Medicines were not managed safely. Some residents reported not feeling safe in the home.

The service did not support people to have maximum choice and control over their lives, and staff did not support them in the least restrictive way possible or in their best interests. Policies and systems did not support these practices. Leadership was ineffective with poor governance structures, meaning the service was not appropriately monitored at manager or provider level.
