Abbeyfield House

This residential care home supports up to 7 people with physical or learning disabilities, autism, and complex needs. Staff enable residents to pursue their interests and maintain meaningful lives, including leisure activities and voluntary work, supporting them with maximum choice and control in the least restrictive ways possible. A consistent team of staff know people well, with gaps covered by bank or agency workers.

The service had some areas for improvement. Systems to oversee the home and ensure staff completed training and received regular supervision were not always effective, though the registered manager took immediate action to address this following inspection. There was insufficient oversight of agency staff to verify they were suitably skilled and given proper induction, which the service immediately remedied. Environmental issues were also identified during the inspection that required attention.
