Abbey Park

Abbey Park is a nursing home supporting up to 84 older people requiring personal or specialist nursing care, rehabilitation and dementia care across separate units on two floors. Staff knew people well and felt there were sufficient care and nursing staff to meet needs. The home maintained clean environments with good infection control practices, managed medicines safely overall, and ensured people had access to healthcare professionals when needed.

However, risk management plans were not always available to ensure consistent and safe approaches by staff. People's needs were assessed before admission and nutritional and hydration needs were met with appropriate support. Staff demonstrated care and responsiveness, with care plans generally supporting personalised provision. Staff were recruited safely and received comprehensive training, including checks to ensure nurses were appropriately registered.
