About Abbey Lodge Residential Home

Abbey Lodge Residential Home is a residential care home in Kent, offering care for older people, including those living with dementia. Details of the CQC's most recent findings are set out below.

Abbey Lodge is a residential care home accommodating up to 25 older people, including those living with dementia, in a large detached house in a residential area outside Hythe. At inspection, 20 residents were living at the service. The management team were following infection control guidance from other agencies and had updated staff practices accordingly.

Staff used personal protective equipment appropriately, with PPE stations positioned throughout the service for easy access. The home deployed agency staff working exclusively at Abbey Lodge to maintain safe staffing levels during the COVID-19 outbreak. Residents were encouraged to remain in their bedrooms during this period and were offered reassurance and reminders about keeping themselves and others safe.
