2 Millbrook Way

This service provides personal care and accommodation for up to six people with learning disabilities and/or autism in a combination of single and shared housing. At inspection, five people were living there. Staff appeared knowledgeable and worked compassionately with residents. One relative said: "I do believe that [name] is fully supported to be safe and secure at Millbrook and also out in the community" and praised the consistency of staffing, noting "there are always familiar faces and staff with the knowledge of the special skills needed to support them."

However, inspectors found safety concerns. Risks relating to people's behavioural support needs had not been regularly reviewed and updated. Learning from incidents involving physical intervention and restraint had not been fully recorded or analysed, and it was unclear what procedure existed for reporting minor injuries from such interventions. Not all staff had received suitable training in physical intervention and restraint. The home did safely recruit enough staff overall and assessed people's needs with involvement from residents, relatives and other professionals where possible. A relative noted: "The staff are fully equipped with the knowledge they need and they are learning every day."
