Woodrow Retirement Home Limited

Woodrow provides residential care and personal care for up to 18 people, with 15 residents at the time of inspection. While staff demonstrated good awareness of individual needs and people, relatives, and staff spoke highly of the management team and their approach to care, significant concerns were identified. Medicines were not always managed safely, and recording systems did not consistently demonstrate that people received prescribed medications. Quality assurance processes had not identified these issues. People's capacity assessments did not follow Mental Capacity Act principles, and care and risk assessment records did not always reflect residents' actual needs. Additionally, safe recruitment procedures were not always in place, and the provider failed to notify CQC of incidents as legally required.
