Widecombe House

Widecombe House provides accommodation and personal care for up to 18 older people. People, their relatives, and health professionals reported that residents were well cared for, with staff showing respect, kindness, and compassion. Staff understood and promoted people's rights to privacy and dignity, and residents felt safe. Staff received training in safeguarding and knew how to report concerns about residents' welfare.

Care at the home was personalized and responsive to individual needs. Staff developed strong relationships with residents, understanding what caused each person stress or anxiety. They involved residents and their families in care planning, ensuring people felt consulted, empowered, and valued. The home provided meaningful activities tailored to residents' individual interests and hobbies, with staff recognizing the importance of meaningful occupation in helping people maintain their independence and live happy, fulfilled lives.
