About Woodley Hall Care Home

Woodley Hall Care Home is a residential care home in Newcastle upon Tyne, providing care for older people, including those living with dementia. Further details on the service are set out in the CQC findings below.

Woodley Hall Care Home, in the north of Newcastle, is registered for up to 21 older people, including those living with dementia. The CQC found the service requires improvement overall, with breaches relating to safe care and treatment, governance, and a failure to notify the regulator of safeguarding events. Infection prevention systems were inadequate, and some care plans lacked detail, including for people dependent on alcohol.

Inspectors found staff kind but not always dignified in practice, such as standing over people while assisting with meals. Dietary needs and healthcare links were managed well, and staff described a supportive, open culture. People and relatives spoke positively about their care, though activities for younger residents needed improvement.
