About Winchester Heights Care Home

Winchester Heights Care Home in Hampshire is a nursing home for up to 103 younger adults and older people, including a dementia unit on the second floor. The CQC rated the home Good overall. Inspectors found staff were kind, respectful of privacy and dignity, and supported people's choices and relationships with family and friends.

However, the CQC found recruitment checks were not always thorough, medicines were not always managed safely, and some people experienced long periods of task-focused care with limited meaningful interaction. The provider was in breach of regulations covering risk assessment, medicines, person-centred care and governance, and the well-led question was rated Requires Improvement. People and relatives generally felt safe and confident that complaints would be acted on.
