Westholme Care Home

Westholme Care Home provides nursing and residential care to up to 74 older people, younger people and those living with dementia. Staff received comprehensive infection prevention and control training during the pandemic to ensure they were skilled and knowledgeable in this critical area. The management team conducted spot checks to monitor staff practice and identify concerns, which revealed good practices within the team.

A dedicated service manager interpreted and shared the latest research and government guidance with staff, supporting the service with training and responding to queries. The provider was responsive to inspection findings, promptly completing maintenance, upgrades and deep cleans to ensure all areas could be effectively cleaned and minimise infection risks. The service was assured to meet good infection prevention and control guidelines as a designated care setting.
