Westleigh Lodge

Westleigh Lodge provides nursing care for up to 48 people living with dementia across two units in a purpose-built facility in Leigh, Greater Manchester. At inspection, 43 people were living at the home. The service has implemented robust infection control processes for visitors, including lateral flow tests, health declarations, temperature checks, and PPE provision. For end-of-life care, relatives can visit following the same protocols as professional visitors, being escorted to residents' rooms by staff members.

The home has created an external visiting pod accessible from outside the building, allowing relatives to see people without entering the main facility. Each family has been allocated set weekly visiting times with a maximum of two people per visit from the same support bubble. After each visit, the pod is sanitised and left open to ventilate, with a 30-minute gap before the next visitor is admitted.
