Wellington Lodge

Wellington Lodge is a care home in Cheetham Hill, Manchester, providing accommodation and support for up to 33 people, some living with dementia. The home operates across two floors with lift and stairwell access. At the time of inspection, 25 people were resident at the service.

Staff had received specialist training in infection control and COVID-19 prevention measures, with procedures for entry based on best practice guidance. The home increased domestic hours and reviewed cleaning schedules to maintain hygiene standards. Systems were in place to keep staff, residents, families and stakeholders informed through regular meetings, an open-door policy, social media updates and information posters. The provider facilitated regular phone and video calls for relatives, and organised window and face-to-face visits in line with guidance.

Risk assessments were completed for high-risk staff members with appropriate mitigating actions taken. All staff and residents were regularly tested through the government COVID-19 testing programme, and the home supported both staff and residents to access COVID-19 vaccinations in line with the government vaccination programme.
