Wansbeck House is a residential care home within Percy Hedley school, providing accommodation and personal care for up to 8 people with a learning disability or complex physical disabilities. Five people were living there at the time of the assessment. The CQC rated the service Good overall, having followed up earlier concerns about safe care and finding no evidence that people were at risk of harm.

Inspectors found a positive, person-centred culture, with staff who knew people well, managed medicines safely, and worked closely with visiting professionals. Relatives praised the care provided. However, not all staff felt able to speak up or felt their suggestions were acted on by management.
