About Castle Dene

Castle Dene is a residential care service in Newcastle upon Tyne, providing support for people with learning disabilities and autism. The findings below set out what the Care Quality Commission most recently found on inspection.

Castle Dene specialises in care and support for people with learning disabilities and autism, including those with additional health care needs. The service operates two distinct parts: a respite service accommodating up to eight people for short breaks or emergency placements in a care home in South Gosforth, Newcastle, and a shared lives scheme providing long-term placements, short breaks and respite care in carers' own homes. At the time of inspection, five people were staying at the respite service, which operates from a single-floor adapted building that also houses the offices managing the wider service.
