Wadhurst Manor

This purpose-built care home provides nursing and personal care for up to 65 older people, including those living with dementia. At inspection, 60 residents were living there. The home maintains high standards of cleanliness with designated housekeeping and laundry staff present daily. Designated housekeeping and laundry staff work each day, with the head of housekeeping serving as an infection control champion. All staff have completed Infection Prevention and Control training with regular refresher courses and competency checks to ensure guidance is followed consistently.

The home has appropriate infection control measures in place, including readily available Personal Protective Equipment at stations throughout the building and accessible extra supplies. Staff were observed wearing and disposing of PPE appropriately. When residents required isolation, barrier nursing protocols were implemented. The three-floor layout with separate units enables the home to effectively cohort people should an outbreak occur, supporting safe infection control management across the service.
