Venn House

Venn House is a residential care home providing accommodation and personal care for up to 20 people, some of whom may be living with dementia. At the time of inspection, 17 people were using the service.

The home demonstrated strong infection control practices. Visitors were asked to consent to lateral flow tests and have their temperatures recorded upon arrival, with a booking system in place to monitor entry. Staff adhered to personal protective equipment guidance with plentiful supplies positioned conveniently near bedrooms. The provider ensured appropriate signage reminded staff and visitors about correct procedures for using and disposing of equipment. Additional cleaning of communal areas and touchpoints was implemented, while staff encouraged people to maintain safe distances from one another.

The home maintained up-to-date policies, procedures and risk assessments relating to infection control, enabling staff to keep people safe. Staff continued to support residents in accessing healthcare, with arrangements in place should people need hospital treatment and return home safely.
